Career Talk : “The Anatomy of Security Risk – From Assessment to Action”

On 25th July 2025, ASIS International Malaysia Chapter was proud to collaborate with Innovative University College (IUC) to deliver a meaningful and engaging career talk for aspiring professionals in the field of security. The session, held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at IUC’s campus, featured two esteemed speakers: Mr. Panniruky Perumal and Dr. Rajitha Nair, who delivered an eye-opening talk titled “The Anatomy of Security Risk – From Assessment to Action.”

Representing ASIS Malaysia were two distinguished and members of the chapter — Mr. Perumal and Dr. Rajitha — both highly experienced professionals in the security industry. The event was part of ASIS Malaysia’s continued outreach and educational initiatives aimed at bridging industry and academia, inspiring students to consider a future in the diverse and evolving security sector.

During the session, Mr. Perumal shared practical insights into risk assessment, giving attendees a clear understanding of how structured evaluations can be translated into effective security actions. Dr. Rajitha expanded the discussion to cover the broader scope of the security profession — emphasizing that today’s security roles are not limited to guarding or physical measures, but also involve strategic thinking, risk management, technology, and leadership.
