Remembering Dr. EL Ching

On 8th May 2022, we lost a dear friend and colleague, Dr. EL Ching.

Dr. Ching was previously our chapter chairman, and we owe a lot to his dedication to the chapter. Many of us have been impacted by his contribution to the chapter and the security industry as a whole.

ASIS Malaysia chapter would like to celebrate his life through a series of photographs and memories, collected from friends and colleagues. If you would like to leave a message or a note of remembrance for Dr. Ching, please use this link.

Dear EL,

On behalf of ASIS International Malaysia Chapter, OSAC Malaysia Country Chapter, MCPF Penang and the security fraternity, I would like to once again honour you for your powerful impact and great contribution to all of us. Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us.

I still remember your guidance and encouragement but most importantly our friendship. You are never forgotten and is always in my memory. My tribute to EL is encapsulated below: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/tribute-dr-ching-eng-leong-el-cpp-cbcp-crmp-icps-cats-cscss/

Sincerely, Victor

Dr EL Ching has been a dear friend since his National Semiconductor Penang days as a production supervisor ( not many knew before switching to security on Captain Chong’s advise). I know him to be a humble , kind & ever willing to help anyone in need. A man with great aspirations for the security fraternity will be sadly missed. May his soul rest in peace.

The late Dr. EL Ching has done a great contribution to the Security World. Appreciate his great efforts and....R.I.P bro !🙏

The late Dr. EL Ching dedicated his life to giving his utmost... to his family, to his workplace, to his pursuit of educational excellence and to various organizations that he served including ASIS Malaysia, OSAC, MCPF & PENSEC. An extraordinary human being with heart, humility and abundance mentality. Definitely left his mark and footprints to the people and organizational bodies that he left behind. Rest In Peace my dear friend. 🌹🙏

In memory of the late Dr Ching…my first meeting with him in Penang in early 2019 as fellow chapter chair, an unassuming humble leader who persevered with various initiatives and efforts to elevate the security profession in Malaysia. A role model for the next generation security professionals and volunteer leaders. May You continue to Rest in Peace.

Today, we pay tribute to Dr. EL Ching and his invaluable contributions to ASIS Malaysia chapter and the security industry. His contributions and guidance will be missed by all members. He will always be remembered and missed.

Dear EL,

Thank you for everything that you have done for us. A big part of my life would be different had you not reached out to me all those years ago to join the ASIS Malaysia chapter. I owe you a lot, and I’m truly grateful for all the help and support you have provided to me. It was great knowing and working alongside with you.

With sincere gratitude,

Chris

Though I only know you for a short period, you will always be in our memories and still a source of inspiration for me. May your soul rest in peace.
