ASIS Malaysia AGM 2021

Updated: Mar 8, 2023

On 17th February 2022, the ASIS Malaysia chapter organized its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2021 as part of the requirements of a registered society. Held in The Saddle Coffee House, Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort, this event was particularly unique as it was the first face-to-face event organized by the chapter in over 2 years. Even though the infection numbers were still at record highs, we were delighted that many of our members opted to attend in person and it was a great opportunity for networking and sharing of ideas. For those that could not attend physically, we also hosted a Zoom link for virtual attendees.

An hour before the start of the AGM, we hosted a fellowship session where light refreshments was served and members were given the opportunity to connect with each other and exchange thoughts on the future of the security industry. We were also honored to have Prof. Dr. Vinitha Guptan, the Vice-Chancellor of Saito University College whom we recently signed a MOU to grace us with her presence and share a few thoughts on possible collaboration ideas between ASIS Malaysia and Saito University College.

At 4pm, we shifted the agenda to begin our AGM where the committee was given the opportunity to share the highlights of 2021 and the upcoming plans for 2022. Various proposals were also recommended during the AGM and all proposed changes were approved in the meeting. Chapter members may refer to the Members' Update section for the AGM minutes which will be updated in the coming weeks.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who took their time to attend the AGM, whether physically or virtually. We look forward to hosting more physical events in the future and seeing everyone again!
